Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to everyone. Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary, and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs. The Primary Navigation handles the first 2 levels of site pages. The Secondary (which is not always available) handles the 3rd and 4th level of structure. The Page level navigation allows you to navigate the current page's headings quickly. The Header Navigation contains the Light/Dark Mode toggle, Search, Notifications and account login. The Breadcrumb Navigation contains the breadcrumb of the current page. If the current page has a breadcrumb, you can get to it by skipping to the content and tabbing in reverse (shift plus tab). The Footer Navigation contains links such as Privacy, Contact, about and terms. Some resources contain an Audio Player that can be activated by holding down the T key for 3 seconds, and then using K to pause and resume. While not every area of Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we are committed to continue work on making this possible. If you have questions or need additional help, please use this link to contact us.

Physics Classroom - Affordable and phun learning

Since the 90s, Physics Classroom has been making learning Physics (and now Chemistry) phun and affective for students across the world, and our teaching tools allow teachers to focus less on administrative work and more on engaging their classrooms in impactful ways.

We're Renovating - Pardon the Dust!

As you navigate this site, you may notice that the layout may swap between two themes.  We are in the processes this year of completely rewriting the entire website.  Much has been migrated over, but other areas will be migrated over one at a time until everything is on the new platform.  If you encounter a broken link or some issue, please feel free to reach out to us so we can get it fixed up.

Tutorials

Our interactive Physics and Chemistry Tutorials are our own free textbooks, written at a high school reading level (and by teachers, not AI), with helpful images, understanding checks, and links to additional resources.

Learning Modules and Interactives

We have 5 different interactives that help teach Physics and Chemistry in different ways, and help build understanding among students.

Interactives are a large collection of HTML5 interactive physics and chemistry simulations.  These include simulations, game-like challenges, and skill-building exercises.
Concept Builders help discover and solidify learning concepts and discover and correct incorrect ideas.
Minds On challenge student's understanding in a game where correct answers progress you to the finish line, but incorrect cost your health.
Calc Pad provides students with math-based questions to practice their understanding and usage of equations and formulas.
Science Reasoning help students to learn and grow their scientific thinking and reasoning skills in the context of various physics and chemistry related tasks.

Task Tracker

Task Tracker is our custom Learning Management System, where teachers can select any of hundreds of learning modules and compatible interactives, modify them, assign them to their students, and get automatic feedback and scoring.  The ability to clone year over year your courses makes prep each year quicker than a Planck time*, and the insights it will give you on what areas students are struggling in will help you focus your efforts and time on areas that will make the most impact.

Teacher Tools

Teaching students how the universe works can be challenging, and online curriculum can be incomplete at times.  Here at Physics Classroom, we want to be your one-stop-shop to help you teach Physics and Chemistry.  We have tools for the seasoned teacher to the 'you need to teach this starting next week' new-to-physics/chemistry teacher.

Lesson Plans provide a free Curriculum for Conceptual, Algebra Based On-Level, and Honors Physics Course.  Chemistry and AP Physics Courses to come.  Conceptual Physics also has a Conceptual Course Pack which is only $75, or $50 when bundled with Task Tracker.
Curriculum Corner are our free worksheets, with purchasable Solutions Guides for only $25 each.
The Laboratory is a collection of labs to perform in class, with included student and teacher guides and resource lists.
Teacher Presentation Pack is a purchasable package ($40) with gigabytes of power points, images, and other materials to help you teach Physics.
Physics Question Bank is a purchasable package ($25) contains hundreds of problems to use for test and quiz building.

Student Tools

We also have tools to help students beyond the normal learning items:

The Review Session gives unit review practice for students looking to ace that upcoming test.
ACT Test Center gives practice for the Physics portion of ACT test taking, using questions that will mimic ACT test styles.
Physics Help assist in learning basic physics principles.
Video Tutorial contain the video presentation and learning of various Physics Topics, which can greatly help those who learn visually and audibly.

Our Commitment to Excellence

Physics Classroom was founded by a teacher, and many other teachers have given their knowledge and skill to build these resources.  Their passion for teaching and helping students learn is what made Physics Classroom what it is today.  We continue their mission to provide quality teacher-generated materials and resources at a low or no cost so teachers (and even Homeschool/Self Learners) everywhere can discover the wonder and amazement of this universe we live in.

At Physics Classroom, you're not a customer: you're family.  We look forward to serving you and your students.
