Physics Classroom is making strides to make our site accessible to
everyone, and features many accessibility features.
Our site contains 6 navigation areas. The Primary, Secondary,
and Page Level navigations have a screen reader version of their nav
structure that allows using the left and right keys to navigate sibling
navigation items, and up or down keys to navigate parent or child
navigation items. The others can be navigated using tabs.
Within the main content, we leverage headers to provide in page or
in tool navigation.
Although we are still rebuilding our content to leverage these tools,
our images should have both short and verbose descriptions, the later
describing in great detail the image for those who cannot see. Any
formulas found within the images are often in the image figure below the image.
Equations and formulas are rendered using MathJax, which has both verbal,
braille (including nemath braille), and keyboard navigation within them.
Learn how to configure and leverage this for various screen readers on our
Equation Navigation Page.
While not every area of
Physics Classroom is usable purely from keyboard and screen reader, we
are committed to continue work on making this possible. If you have

Addition and Resolution of Force Vectors Video Tutorial
The Adding and Resolving Forces Video Tutorial reviews the two critical operations associated with force vectors - addition and resolution. The importance of vector addition of forces and of vector components is explained.
The video lesson answers the following questions:
How can force vectors be added?
How can force vectors be resolved into components?
What role does adding and resolving vectors have in the analysis of Physics problems?
Minds on Physics, Forces ini Two-Dimensions Module
Minds on Physics has a long history of challenging students to think deeply about a topic. This rigorous program features carefully-crafted questions that target the fine details of a topic. Combined with its question-specific help pages and its intelligent question-delivery system, a MOP mission can be the perfect supplement to any Tutorial. Try Mission F2D1 as a follow-up to this video.
Curriculum Corner, Forces in Two Dimensions
Our Curriculum Corner provides teachers with a collection of Think Sheets on numerous topics. They make perfect in-class reviews and post-video follow-ups. In particular, the following would be a great complement to this video: Adding and Resolving Forces
Physics Interactives, Vectors and Projectile Section, Vector Addition
Our simulation section provides learners an interactive way to learn. Drag a slider, move a vector, alter a value, and observe the result. This particular simulation is accompanied by a classroom-ready activity sheet that can be downloaded and used with students.
Physics Interactives, Vectors and Projectile Section, Name That Vector
This skill building activity from our interactive simulation section provides students with an interactive challenge of using the head-to-tail method to determine the resultant of three or more vectors. Progress is tracked using a star system; it makes a perfect in-class activity.
Concept Builder: Head-to-Tail Vector Addition
Most students love Concept Builders. And teachers may love them more. This one tests student understanding of the head-to-tail method of vector addition. When used with our Task Tracker system, teachers can receive records of student completion.

Teacher Toolkit - Forces in Two Dimensions
The Forces in Two Dimensions Toolkit provides teachers with standards-based resources for designing lesson plans and units that pertain to situations that involve forces acting at angles to the traditional horizontal and vertical axes. Find annotated links to resources on our website and throughout the web.
