Galvanic Cells - Directions
Using the Galvanic Cells Concept Builder is quite simple. There are three difficulty levels. Each question involves the same task - completing the cell diagram for a galvanic (voltaic) cell. The balanced chemical equation for the reaction occurring in the cell is given. The components of the two half-cells is also given. You must identify the two half-equations occurring in the cell. You must identify the half-cell where oxidation and reduction occur. You must label the anode and the cathode and indiate the direction of electron flow and the direction of positive/negative ion flow. All of this is done by tapping on the Tap Me locations. Tapping on these hot spots toggles the contents of the fields to the various allowed options. When you have identified the desired option, stop tapping and proceed to the other fields. There are seven Tap Me hot spots in the Apprentice level and eight hot spots in the Master and Wizard level. Once you have indicated an answer for all the hot spots, a Check Answer button will be visible. When you are satisfied with your answer, then you can tap on the Check Answer button. Your answer will be evaluated and your Progress Report will be updated (visible for Task Tracker users only).
Your goal is to earn "Stars" and to complete one or more difficulty levels. Stars are earned when you show success on a particular question. If you miss a question then you will have to answer two similar questions correctly before earning a star. Once you show success on all the questions for a particular difficulty level, you will earn the trophy for that difficulty level.
