Mission ST7 Non-Stoichiometric Conditions

Mission ST7 pertains to non-stoichiometric conditions. Students must be able to identify situations which are non-stoichiometric when given a balanced equation and available number of moles of reactants and be able to identify the limiting reactant. The mission consists of 32 questions organized into 8 Question Groups.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student should be able to describe what non-stoichiometric conditions are and analyze situations in which the moles of two or more reactants are given in order to decide if the situation qualifies as non-stoichiometric.
  • The student should be able to analyze the available amounts of reactants, compare the available ratios to the coefficients of the balanced equation, and decide which reactant is limiting.
