Mission TC11 Thermal Stoichiometry

Mission TC11 pertains to thermal stoichiometry. Students perform simple moles-to-energy conversions using information from a thermochemical equation and identify the proper factor label setup for a gram-to-energy conversion. The mission consists of 24 questions organized into 6 Question Groups.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student should be able to use heat as a stoichiometric quantity to perform simple computations of the amount of heat that flows into or out of a system.
  • The student should be able to show how the factor label method can be used to relate heat flow to the amount of reactant or product involved in a chemical reaction.
