Mission TC5 Calorimetry

Mission TC5 pertains to the science of calorimetry. Students must have a good comprehension of coffee cup calorimetry, the law of energy conservation, and relationships between Q, m, C, and ∆T. The mission consists of 36 questions organized into 9 Question Groups.

Learning Outcomes

  • The student should be able to explain how calorimetry can be used to determine the energy changes occurring within a system.
  • The student should be able to use the concept of specific heat capacity to quantify the relationship between mass, temperature change, and heat flow.
